The Courtenay Airpark was pleased to support #386 Komox Air Cadet Squadron for an Air Cadet Flying Day on Saturday, 11 April 2026. The #386 Sqn staff and Cadets, under the supervision of Don Mcclellan, used the Courtenay Airpark Pilot Lounge as a coordination point for their familiarization flights in Sealand Flight’s Cessna 172 aircraft. During the course of the day, 23 cadets were flown by Maj. Darryl Rolfe, and WO1 Griffin Moquin, a senior Air Cadet at #386 Sqn. Notably, this was the first opportunity for WO1 Moquin to conduct familiarization flights for members of his squadron, having recently earned his Cadet Wings and Private Pilot Licence.
The Airpark offers its compliments to all involved for introducing the #386 Komox Air Cadets to powered flight in such a safe and effective way.
