A very successful event!
Many thanks to all who provided aircraft for the static display, helped with the setup (and tear-down) of the marquees and information displays, and welcomed visitors to the Airpark Open House on Saturday, June 27th. The Open House was a huge success, thanks to your efforts, and it is estimated that several hundred people visited the Airpark, spoke with our members, and learned more about what the Airpark brings to the community. Indeed, several people commented to me that they regularly walk the Airpark walkway, enjoy seeing the aircraft take off and land, and appreciated the opportunity to see aircraft up close and speak with Airpark and Sealand representatives. The winner of the draw for a familiarization flight was a visitor from Yellowknife visiting his daughter, who lives in Courtenay. He, his wife and their daughter enjoyed a flight provided by Clint Mowbray in his Piper Archer on Sunday, June 28th. All around, a great day for the Courtenay Airpark, its members and supporters - including Sealand Flight, and for General Aviation in the Comox Valley.
